👻☠️💀SPOOKY FUN DIVE!!!

On Saturday 03/05/25 at 14:30, we are diving at the Secret “Car Cemetery” of Stolen Vehicles in Attica. This is where cars end up when they are “too old.”

⏰Our meeting point will be at 14:30 on the boat Proteus III at the port of Palaia Fokaia (Google Maps link) and NOT at the DIVENESS dive center, so we can immediately start, fully set up, without any delays, for our amazing destination.

🔵A few details about the dive spot:

🚗It is located in Legrena. The location is relatively unknown to swimmers, but it is quite popular among amateur divers. The reason is its unique underwater scenery: between 15 and 30 meters deep lies a hidden car cemetery!

🚙The site is a real attraction for divers, with dozens of car wrecks becoming part of the seabed, creating a surreal image.

🚌But how did all these cars end up underwater? The answer may lie in illegal activities. According to police officers from the stolen vehicles unit, it is highly likely that some of these cars were stolen. There are four main scenarios: illegal street racing, theft for spare parts, theft for committing crimes (e.g., robbery), and “vehicle kidnapping.”

🚐In the first case, after thieves stripped the cars of valuable parts to sell on the second-hand market, they disposed of what was no longer needed or had no value. This likely explains the skeletal remains of cars found underwater.

🚘The second theory is that the vehicles were used in criminal activities — robberies or even murders — and the perpetrators dumped them into the sea to eliminate any evidence. And if that’s the case, they succeeded, as no one has ever looked for them.

🚖Older officers support a third theory as the most probable: due to the advanced “decay” of the cars, indicating long-term submersion, they recall a time when vehicle kidnappings were a trend. Thieves would steal a car, track down the owner, and demand a ransom for its return. Some owners paid and got their vehicles back.

🚗For those who refused to pay, the thieves would dispose of the evidence by sinking the cars into the sea.

🚜The fourth scenario suggests that some cars ended up underwater due to driver error — possibly during illegal races near a sharp and dangerous turn at the 59th km of the highway. (source: VICE)

👻The dive is UNIQUE and suitable for ALL certification levels, as there will be 2 instructors accompanying at different depths depending on diver experience!

Our trip to and from the dive site will be aboard a boat that can only be compared to services abroad — you’ve surely seen it in photos from our previous excursions!

💰The cost per diver is €38 and includes:

➤Transfer with a DELUXE boat (equipped with an outdoor shower, toilet, kitchenette, full sunshade coverage, a fully enclosed 1/3 section, external speakers, etc.) to and from the dive site.

➤Captain, assistant, and fuel expenses

➤Supervision by specialized PADI instructors

➤Snacks and water

Not included in the base price:

➤Nitrox (for those who need it, +€3)

➤Equipment set (for those without their own gear, a full SCUBAPRO set is available at a special +€10; individual item rental prices apply otherwise — see HERE)

➤DAN dive insurance (if you don’t have it and want it, we can issue daily coverage for +€7)
