🎃 Spooky Diving Month by DIVENESS
Every October we traditionally dedicate the month to Spooky dives and events, celebrating Halloween as divers!
And not just “somehow” 😂 — we celebrate it in realistic conditions, unlike many others!
👻 What the Month Includes
- Wreck dives
- Wreck diving specialties with penetration into the spookiest areas
- Exploration of the Devil’s Well
- Night dives under the Full Moon 🌕
👉 Let’s just hope they’re not really haunted… since some of them have witnessed real tragedies in the distant past 😱
🕯️ The History of Halloween
- Halloween is celebrated on the eve of All Saints’ Day (November 1st).
- It honors both the Saints and the departed ancestors.
- That’s why it’s also called “All Hallows’ Eve.”
- Its roots trace back to the Celts, who believed that on this night, spirits would return home to visit their loved ones. (Source: History.com)

🤓📖 About the Wreck
🚢 The cargo ship “Kyra Leni” is the most beautiful recreational wreck in the Saronic Gulf.
🚤 Easily accessible from our dive center.
✅ A MUST-see destination for all Advanced divers and above.
🕰️ The Story
The ship, captained by Panagiotis Mourtzis with chief engineer Ioannis Moros, 18 crew members, and the wives of both the Captain and the First Officer on board, set sail empty on January 5th, 1978 from Lavrio bound for Bulgaria.
Severe weather conditions (winds up to 11 Beaufort) caused the ship to drift, and despite efforts to shelter, it violently struck rocks and eventually sank on January 6th, 1978 at 14:50. All those aboard survived.
Today, the wreck lies split in two, at a maximum depth of 30m and a minimum of around 18m.
