Two unique dives, two completely different underwater landscapes, and one unforgettable diving experience.

On Sunday, August 9, we board our DELUXE dive boat Proteus III and set course for two of the most beautiful dive sites in Attica: Pontikonisi (Camel Island) and the well-known Pothitos Island.

Crystal-clear waters, abundant marine life, colourful walls, impressive rock formations, and two dives that will make you feel like you’re on a Greek island holiday—while remaining just a short distance from Athens.

We will meet directly on board Proteus III at the port of Palaia Fokaia, NOT at the DIVENESS Dive Center, allowing us to depart immediately and head straight to our first dive site without unnecessary delays.

Dive No. 1 – Pontikonisi (Camel Island)

Pontikonisi, also known as Apollon or Camel Island (named after the distinctive double hump formed by its two connected hills), belongs to the Municipality of Vari–Voula–Vouliagmeni and is one of the most beautiful dive sites in Eastern Attica.

Its underwater landscape features a gently sloping rocky seabed reaching depths of approximately 25 metres, while the eastern side of the island offers a spectacular colourful wall with massive boulders covered in marine life.

The site is well known for its excellent visibility, making every dive both relaxing and visually stunning.

Dive No. 2 – Pothitos Island

Only a short boat ride away lies our second destination, Pothitos Island, one of the favourite dive sites among DIVENESS divers.

Here we explore an underwater landscape full of life, featuring impressive boulders, colourful walls covered with marine vegetation, swim-throughs, cracks, small caverns and arches decorated with sponges and red algae.

The site is also home to abundant marine life, including:

• Dusky Groupers
• Sea Bream
• Moray Eels
• Large Groupers
• Greater Amberjack
• European Lobsters
• Brown Meagre
• and many other fascinating Mediterranean species.

Dive Information

• Suitable for all certified diver levels.
• Maximum bottom time per dive: 60 minutes
• Maximum depth for Open Water Divers: 18 metres
• Maximum depth for Advanced Open Water Divers: 30 metres
• Maximum depth for Deep Divers: 40 metres

The Dive Boat

Transportation is provided by our DELUXE dive boat Proteus III, a purpose-built diving vessel offering a level of comfort comparable to premium dive operations around the world.

On board you will find:

• Dedicated diver seating
• Tank racks
• Giant Stride dive platform
• Freshwater outdoor shower
• Marine toilet
• Galley
• Full-length sunshade (approximately one-third fully enclosed)
• Outdoor sound system
• Comfortable seating areas to relax between dives.

Participation

• Minimum participants: 10 divers
• Maximum participants: 12 divers

Places are limited.

Price

€90 per diver

The price includes:

• Transportation with the DELUXE dive boat to and from both dive sites.
• Captain, crew and fuel expenses.
• Guidance by experienced dive professionals.
• Two dives.
• Cylinder and weights.
• Snacks and bottled water.

• Nitrox (+€3)
• Dive torch (+€5)
• Dive computer (+€5)
• Complete SCUBAPRO equipment set (+€10 special rental price for divers without their own equipment). Individual equipment items are charged according to our rental price list.
• Optional daily DAN diving insurance (+€7).

Completing the booking form is mandatory in order to secure your place on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please register only if you are certain about your participation, as last-minute cancellations cannot be accommodated.

Cancellation Policy

DIVENESS reserves the right to change the date, time or dive sites, or to cancel the trip if weather or sea conditions make the excursion unsafe.

Refunds are issued only if the trip is cancelled by DIVENESS.
